Speaking to Polygon, Jonathan Knight, the head of the game’s publisher Warner Bros., revealed how Harry Potter: Wizards Unite’s microtransactions will work. The game will offer a character creation area that Knight calls the “selfie avatar” and it allows players to customize still images and videos of themselves. Some of the customization options spoken about by the publication are Hagrid’s beard and Luna Lovegood’s glasses. Niantic has confirmed that Hogwart’s houses won’t be a hugely important part of the game, but a Ravenclaw scarf is another selfie avatar item that the publication talks about....

However, what are they, and why are they not allowed? There are only three of them, and they are the most sinister spells of all. While during the Second Wizarding War, Lord Voldemort made the curses legal, they became illegal once again by the 1990s. Anyone using this spell on another human being would be sentenced to life in Azkaban, Harry Potter’s prison for the most dangerous criminals. Spoiler Alert...

The first (and seemingly only) Harry Potter Wizards Unite Adversaries event of August kicks off in just a handful of hours and fans of the mobile game will have through August 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. PT to defeat the enemies that are taking over the map and race through the list of tasks that are available for a limited time. As always, the Adversaries event brings some pretty tempting rewards, which means that working through those limited time tasks is going to be well worth the effort for players who put in the work, but there’s a little extra incentive this time around…...

The series’ third episode, “Echoes,” featured an enticing flashback scene for Maya Lopez, whose comic book origins are undeniably tied to Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin, even teasing the sleeve of Vincent D’Onofrio’s signature black suits from Daredevil. Despite that, and the actor’s social media activity being suspiciously interested in Hawkeye, it’s still a mystery whether Marvel Studios managed to bring back Kingpin as a Christmas present or if he’s being saved for future projects....
