Barton has never been considered one of the most popular Avengers, but Hawkeye proved that there was more to his character than meets the eye. The series also introduced new characters such as Kate Bishop and her mother Eleanor, as well as a number of returning faces including Yelena Belova and Kingpin.

Barton has used his impressive archery skills to help the Avengers defeat some of their most dangerous opponents. One fan has created an edit that imagined what the MCU might look like if his skills weren’t as accurate. The edit is set during the final battle in The Avengers, where the newly formed group of heroes are trying to stop Loki and the Chitauri from conquering New York. In the edit, Hawkeye racks up a kill count of 5, including 4 of his fellow Avengers. The video ends with Hawkeye enjoying the Shawarma restaurant all alone.
In the edit, Hawkeye misses his first two shots aimed at the Chitauri. His next arrow lands in the eye of a civilian. From there, the edit begins to pick the Avengers off one by one, beginning with Thor just after he lands on the ground. The arrow catches in his breastplate and he staggers away. Captain America catches his arrow as he tries to instruct the NYPD on the precautions that need to be taken in order to save the most lives. Iron Man and Black Widow take their arrows in the skull as Hawkeye attempts to rid them of the Chitauri and Loki running after them.
The fate of Bruce Banner and the Hulk is unknown but given the fact that Barton is eating Shawarma alone at the end of the clip, it doesn’t bode well for him. If Barton had managed to take down Banner with one of his arrows, that is no easy feat, given the Hulk’s tremendous size. Of course, the Shawarma scene at the end also implies that Hawkeye somehow managed to get the job done, even with all the Avengers’ casualties.
Avengers: Endgame did show a vengeful side of Hawkeye after all of his family had been blipped. Hawkeye built on this, showing some of the characters who had been impacted by Ronin’s killing spree. While Barton did help the Avengers bring everyone back, Hawkeye demonstrated that he is far from done healing from his past. Thankfully, he hasn’t committed the killings spotted within this edit, even if he feels he is to blame for Natasha’s death.
Hawkeye is now available on Disney Plus.
