Many of the recurring monthly Harry Potter: Wizards Unite events will be unfolding over the next few weeks, but there are also some surprise events popping up to add a little extra excitement and motivation to login. This weekend, for example, features a short event to celebrate Snape’s birthday. Considering Snape is one of the most controversial and well-known characters from the Harry Potter franchise, it should prove to be a fairly popular in-game celebration.

Aside from the Snape celebration, there will also be the usual two-part Brilliant Event, a second Adversaries event, and the monthly Community Day that Niantic games have made a tradition. This month’s two-part Brilliant Event is Triwizarding Secrets-themed, which should lead to some very exciting Foundables and hopefully some powerful rewards for players who manage to work through the full list of tasks and bonus assignment when the event goes live.

Triwizarding Secrets Brilliant Event Part 1
When Tuesday, January 12 11am PT to Tuesday, January 19 11am PT
“Features Help return Brilliant Foundables from the Brilliant Great Hall including the Goblet of Fire and Mad-Eye Moody’s Eye.”
January Adversaries Event
When Tuesday, January 19 11am PT to Friday, January 22 11am PT
“Features Refine your combat skills and prepare to go against the Ancient Hungarian Horntail.”
January Community Day
When All day Saturday, January 23 from 12:01am–11:59pm local time
“Features Search for Platform 9 ¾ and catch the Hogwarts Express as you visit King’s Cross Station.”
Triwizarding Secrets Brilliant Event Part 2
When Tuesday, January 26 11am PT to Tuesday, February 2 11am PT
“Features Help return Brilliant Foundables from the Brilliant Prefects’ Bathroom, including Moaning Myrtle and the Marauder’s Map.”
