The trailer then shows what appears to be fan favorite character Penny Haywood, though she looks decisively older than she usually does in the game. This has led to speculation that the anniversary event will address one of Hogwarts Mystery’s lingering criticisms.

Even though Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players are nearing Year 7 in the game, the characters still look the same as they did in their first year of school. This doesn’t make sense, as they would be 17 or 18 years old by this point in the story. Perhaps this teaser is suggesting that the characters are going to get their long-awaited age-up, though it’s also possible that fans are looking a bit too much into it.
With the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery anniversary event coming up on April 25, fans of the mobile game should learn more concrete details sooner rather than later.
