Starting April 25, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery fans can create their own original costume design for the game that features “elements from all four Hogwarts Houses.” Three finalists will be chosen, and then Hogwarts Mystery fans will vote for the design they like best. The winning design will then be added to the game at some point in fall 2020, with more details to come via the various Hogwarts Mystery social media pages.

Besides the chance to participate in the contest, Hogwarts Mystery players will also get a party onesie and slippers themed after their Hogwarts House, which will be added to their clothing collection on April 25. Furthermore, Hogwarts Mystery players will notice that their Common Rooms will be specially decorated for the occasion.
Jam City has also released some interesting infographics that prove Hogwarts Mystery’s wild success. According to Jam City’s data, Hogwarts Mystery players have played the game for over 35 billion minutes, participated in over 50.5 million Quidditch matches, and cast 2 billion spells. The most popular magical creature is apparently the Niffler, whereas the most popular Hogwarts House is Gryffindor (though that’s not terribly surprising).
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has proven to be quite popular for mobile gamers so far, but it will be interesting to see how Jam City will continue to keep fans engaged with the game moving forward. Right now, Hogwarts Mystery is in Year 6, and Year 7 will presumably bring about the end of the storyline. It remains to be seen how Jam City will keep players invested in the game beyond that, but one has to imagine that it already has some plans for what comes next.
In the meantime, fans may also be anxious to learn what’s next for the Portkey Games label. Besides Hogwarts Mystery, Portkey Games has also helped launch Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, a Pokemon GO-style game from Niantic. Rumors are that a Harry Potter console RPG is in development as well, though nothing official has been announced on that front.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
