Now, a rumor has surfaced online that Hogwarts Legacy will feature multiplayer that will allow players to team up with friends and go on raids in Hogwarts and its surrounding areas. It’s currently unclear where the rumor originated, especially since there are tons of speculation and wish lists that are going around online. However, those who are expecting to see a multiplayer mode may be disappointed, given that Avalanche Software made it clear that the game is going to be a single-player experience.

Of course, Hogwarts Legacy is still in its early stages of development, and Avalanche Software still haven’t released any other information about the game apart from its debut trailer. Given this, there is still a possibility that multiplayer mode could be in the works, but it will likely be a mini-mode that players can explore after completing the main campaign. There is also the possibility that Avalanche Software may just be dancing around with what the game will be for now to have some sort of a surprise reveal of a multiplayer mode later on. Whatever the case, players should expect the single-player campaign to be the game’s focus, and any multiplayer functionality will probably be just an add-on.
Meanwhile, despite Hogwarts Legacy being just announced, the game has already faced some criticism due to an indirect affiliation with Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. To the uninitiated, J.K. Rowling is currently in hot water for making transphobic comments online, and given that she is the source of everything related to the Harry Potter franchise, some fans are rallying to boycott the upcoming game.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy is in development for the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
