Since the final film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 was released in 2011, the actors have gone on to have impressive careers and they have all taken on different projects than what they are known for. In the past few years, the main cast of Harry Potter has signed onto some interesting projects.

Emma Watson Starred In The Circle And Little Women
Emma Watson has played many movie characters since playing smart and sassy Hermione, and she doesn’t sign up for the same type of film twice. While she will always be associated with her Harry Potter character, she has branched out, and also began attending Brown University in 2009.
In the 2017 film The Circle, Watson starred alongside Tom Hanks as a character who begins working at a tech company and realizes that something sinister is happening. Watson also played Meg March in Greta Gerwig’s 2019 film Little Women and brought her relatable sensibility to that role as well. The actor doesn’t have any movies coming up and seems to be taking a bit of a pause, although of course fans are eager to see what she will do next.
Daniel Radcliffe Played The Main Role In Weird: The Al Yankovic Story
Recently, Daniel Radcliffe starred in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and while this role couldn’t be further from his sweet young wizard in Harry Potter, he is famous for choosing interesting projects and pushing himself as an actor. He had a busy 2022, starring in The Lost City as Abigail Fairfax, voicing Knight of The Sun in Rick and Morty, and playing several characters in the TV series Miracle Workers about angels at a company working for God.
While it’s easy for an actor to feel pigeonholed by their most famous role, as people always talk about them playing that one character, Radcliffe has gone down his own path. His choices are creative and different and it’s always exciting to see what he chooses next.
Rupert Grint Turned To Mystery TV Shows Like Cabinet Of Curiosities
Rupert Grint has many underappreciated roles as he has had a long career since playing the adorable and charming Ron, who cares for his friends and would do anything for them. While it would be expected for Grint to star in quirky independent films or sitcoms since Ron is so lovable, the actor has taken a turn toward the horror and thriller genres recently, which is fun to see.
In 2022, Grint starred in the AppleTV+ series Servant about a couple named Dorothy and Sean Turner (played by Lauren Ambrose and Toby Kebbell) who need a caretaker for their child, who is actually a doll. Grint’s character, Julian Pearce, is Dorothy’s sibling, and it’s a fairly dark role as he struggles with alcoholism and can tell that something paranormal is occurring. The actor also played Walter Gilman in Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities.
Tom Felton Starred In Several Action And Historical Movies
While he may have played the unlikable Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise, Tom Felton’s various movie roles have proven that he can take on any character. The actor showed a lot of range as Draco, who reveals a softer side at certain moments, although he is always shown to be conceited and thinking about evil plans.
Recently, the actor starred in the drama Save The Cinema adapted from the real life of Liz Evans, a hairdresser who tries to stop a theater from being closed down in 1990s Wales. Felton also starred in two action films, playing Earl Halstead Morris in Canyon Del Muerto, and Lukasz in Burial.
Maggie Smith Reprised Her Violet Crawley Role In Two Downton Abbey Movies
Although some Harry Potter casting choices aren’t beloved, Maggie Smith is flawless as Professor Minerva McGonagall, a strong character who has a soft side. In the past few years, the actor starred in the 2021 holiday film A Boy Called Christmas and also reprised her Downton Abbey role of Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham, in the 2019 film Downton Abbey and the 2022 sequel Downton Abbey: A New Era.
No matter what part she is playing, Smith has a warm and comforting presence, and always plays characters who are smart and not going to let anyone else tell them what to do. It has been interesting to see what she has done since Harry Potter.
Ralph Finnes Played A Main Role In Horror Movie The Menu
While Ralph Finnes has had a long and varied career, he is associated with playing Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter, the mysterious and dark figure who is never far from Harry’s mind. One of his most recent roles actually has a lot in common with this Harry Potter role. While a chef is very different from Voldemort, of course, the two characters do share the desire to act however they want and never think about the consequences.
Ralph Finnes recently played Chef Slowik in The Menu, the 2022 horror movie that has gotten everyone talking since it has such a fascinating premise. Last year, the actor also played the main character in the serious drama Four Quartets.
Evanna Lynch Recently Starred In Short Films
Evanna Lynch is beloved for playing Luna Lovegood in the famous franchise, responsible for some of Harry Potter’s funniest quotes and bringing a heartwarming vibe to all of her scenes. In contrast to the rest of the cast members, the actor hasn’t had many attention-grabbing roles in recent years.
In the past two years, the actor starred in a few short films: Other Half in 2021, You Eat Other Animals? in 2022, and Bus Girl in 2022. She is keeping busy, though, and co-hosts the podcast with Just Beings with Dr. Melaine Joy, a psychologist, and also co-hosted the BBC Sounds podcast talking about Normal People.
